President’s message:
We have some good "special events" coming up, the next one being the
Annie Oakley shoot, scheduled for Sunday, July 20. This was a well attended
and fun event last year, although not a direct club function. I think that
everyone that attended last year were hunters with years of experience and
knowledgeable in gun safety.
However, I would still like to point out a few basic safety practices
that should be followed during an event of this nature.
- Load your gun only when you’re up to shoot.
- Load only a single round.
- Keep the breach of your gun open when not on the "firing line".
Of course, there are other safety rules and courtesy’s but the above
should keep us safe.
Oh yes, there is one other... keep a watchful eye out for all Del Webers
and old guys, as they tend to be forgetful. BE SAFE!
On another note...I think we should plan on a work day(s) before the
picnic (and camp-out) so that our facilities are in great shape for members
and guests attending these events.

CARP SHOOT:
The 2nd Annual Carp shoot turned out to be another great
event, thanks to the efforts of Ray and Jeff. The turnout was quite
respectable, with about 20 people showing up. A thanks also goes around to
everyone that contributed food and especially to Pete for handling the BBQ,
the food was awesome.
Ray and Jeff made trophies out of wood of a big carp, a small carp and
multiple carp (nice job), which went to the winners along with a $20 cash
prize to each. They also had a trophy of a carp’s tail (butt) which went to
Rich for taking the most shots without connecting.
The weather was great, sunny and warm...the only problem was there was
about a 35 mph wind.
Too bad if you missed this one...but on the bright side the next one is
less than a year away!
Final results:
Ray Jr. 3.0# + 1.5# (Most)
Jeff 4.0# (Largest)
Dan 3.5#
Jerry 3.0#
Hector 2.5#
Jose 1.5# (Smallest)
Thanks again to FoxCroft and Ray!
