PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE:

Although a number of board positions were left vacant at the July meeting after having talked with Keith, he said he would accept the nomination for President. Also, Pete said he would be willing to accept the role of Vice-President, again. Of course all of this will have to be confirmed at the August meeting.

Our next big event of the season is the picnic and camp-out. I think it’s well organized at this point, so let’s just get out there and have fun…and gorge ourselves!

Looking over the semi-annual report you can see we are barely holding our own, this mainly due to the success of the banquet. Anyone that has any ideas on how we can improve our financial situation, please bring them up at any meeting.

ANNIE OAKLEY SHOOT:

The 2nd Annual Annie Oakley shoot turned out to be another great event! Thanks to Mark for letting us have it at the farm. The turnout was slightly less than last year, with about 10 guys showing up to participate. The weather started out cool but turned hot very quickly…I don’t know if it was due to the sun or the smokin’ pipes! No stats were keep on the number of rounds shot and who won what, but a number of hotshots won two or more rounds.

JOE MOORADIAN CLASSIC

CHAMPIONSHIP FIELD SHOOT

SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 7, 2008

This year our Field Championship shoot will be held in honor of our oldest member in both age and membership, our own Joe Mooradian. Joe has over 50 years of dedicated service to BO-ARRO and this is just our way of saying… THANK YOU… JOE!!!

This handicap shoot will follow the same format as our regular monthly shoots, but with the following exceptions...

  • There will be $1 betting on the shooter(s) you think will win. Anyone can bet. (Note…you can use address labels to identify your $1’s.)

  • Betting will be solicited at the August meeting, the picnic and before the shoot commences.

  • Dan will handle the bets.

  • Bets distributed as follows…20% of total to winning shooter. Of the remaining amount… 50% to first name pulled from winning shooter’s dollar pile…30% to second name pulled… finally, 20% to third name pulled.

  • There will be a shotgun start at 9AM, so that everyone will finish at the same time.

  • To expedite shooting, sequence of targets may be changed.

  • Anyone not on the firing line at the start of shooting will be disqualified!

Bring your dollars to the August meeting!

Any eligible shooter who can not make this shoot should notify Dan, ASAP.

Current handicaps are included in this newsletter.

Any questions or comments bring to the August meeting!

All the guys listed in the July shoot report are eligible for championship awards except Tom and Hector, who still need to shoot at least a half at the August shoot.
