JANUARY 2008 VOLUME 60 NUMBER 1 EDITOR: DAN FIALA (djfarcher@att.net) CALENDAR OF EVENTS February 3: 300 Round 9:00 AM Meeting 10:30 AM February 16: 3D Setup & Chili Cook-Off 2PM February 17: 3D Polar Bear Shoot 8AM /2PM March 29: Awards Banquet * * * JANUARY SHOOT REPORT: Counting Andrew, we had a full house for our January shoot. Scott shot out of his mind, winning the shoot. He also had, not just one, but two Robin hoods. He’ll have to shoot the 5 spot targets if he continues shooting like that. Of course, shooting the half-length arrows only cost him one arrow. Maybe we’ll have to ban the Accu-rest bow from competition if it helps Scott that much! It won’t be that easy next time Scott, look at what you did to your handicap. Results of the January 300 Round follows: ARCHER SCORE w/hcp X’s hcp newhcp Margie 13 13 0 0 230 Dom 255 255 11 0 36 Pete 257 272 10 15 15 Phil 273 273 30 0 22 Hector 274 274 20 0 21 Rich 264 279 11 15 15 Tom 247 280 9 33 33 Gale 246 284 10 38 38 Dan 290 292 27 2 2 Scott 271 311 14 40 23 * * * CONGRATULATIONS AND WELCOME TO FULL MEMBERSHIP…

RANGE REPORT Not much to be done on the range right now, except planning. Mark your calendars for Work Weekend… APRIL 19th & 20th, 2008 * * * President’s message: It is of little surprise when viewing our annual report that our treasury is still "bleeding". Our ongoing problem is still membership…or lack thereof. The vast majority of our members, past and present came thru word of mouth from work, other organizations and associations or friends. So…talk it up and if you know someone that is interested, follow up with a membership application. It is to this end that I have sent out (27) letters to previously active members who I thought may be interested in rejoining Bo-Arro. As expected a number of the letters (7) were returned…the result of having to use old data. So far there have been no responses, but I am still hopeful. Included in the letter were some of our new functions, facilities, location and advertising our up and coming Polar Bear shoot and Banquet. Anyone interested in the content can review it at the next meeting. Hope to see you at the next event! Dan SUCCESSFUL BOW HUNTERS… Keith Musynski 4 pt. Buck, 140#, Lowden-Miller, 11/15 Jeff Freund 6 pt. Buck, at home, no further details. Pete Bryan Doe & Button Buck Gale Huntington 10 pt. Buck, 11/17 8 pt. Buck, 12/28 Mark Epperson 8 pt. The successful hunters need to get the information on their deer and their nameplates to Scott if they want them by the awards banquet. * * * (rerun) BO-ARRO WEBSITE For anyone who is concerned or has a suggestion or an update for the boarro website please email that concern, suggestion or update to Dan Miller at curiouswebs@yahoo.com. Note: Please be specific such as page, wording, etc. A general statement of update does not help. I will need to know what specific updates are requested or required. Important: in the subject area of email please put "BOARRO web update". I get hundreds of emails a day so I weed through quickly, if I do not recognize your email or name, I delete. Second, if you do not get a response from me within a week, please send again. Sometimes things get in my junk/bulk email and get deleted, sometimes I am out of town. Thanks, Dan Miller.
